Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Rogative.

The Hermitage of La Rogative is one of the buildings whose exterior impresses visitors because of its setting, its geographical enclave and its location (between Pico de Revolcadores (2,027 m), El Servalejo and Peña Jarota (1946 m)), which stands like a curious sentinel of living rock.

The Virgen de la Rogativa pilgrimage takes place on the last Sunday in May. It is said that in May 1535, Ginés Martínez de Cuenca, seeing a white dove flying from his fields, threw a stone at it, which fell to the ground and was transformed into the Virgin, whose forehead showed a bleeding wound. The Virgin with the wounded forehead prayed for all sinners, which is why the sanctuary built there is known as the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Rogative (Hermit of the Rogative).
