Whatever the reason for your journey, there is always some spare time to go shopping. The Region of Murcia makes it easy and comfortable for you. Big shopping malls and small retail stores of bygone days. Street markets with a handicraft atmosphere and trendy shops. And, of course, open air weekly markets as well as permanent daily markets, where you can buy the best produce.

Souvenirs, fashion, presents, accessories, fabrics, handicrafts, art, food and wine, special objects... Whatever your preferences, you will find plenty of suggestions to take a souvenir from the Region of Murcia with you.

Many commercial establishments in the Region of Murcia have the certificate of Compromiso de Calidad Turística -Tourist Quality Commitment- granted by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade. This certificate is awarded to shops, establishments and services related to the tourism industry which guarantee satisfaction from clients as well as safety and comfort of premises.

Opening Hours:
Big stores or franchises usually open non-stop from 10am to 8.30pm. Shopping malls too, but they close a bit later, at 10pm. Traditional shops usually open from 10am to 2pm and 4.30 to 8.30pm. Shops and malls are usually closed on Sundays and bank holidays except for:
· 2019: 7th January, 13th January, 18th April, 5th May, 2sd June, 10th June, 30th June, 12sd October, 1st November, 24th November, 6th December, 8th December, 15th December, 22sd December, 29th December.

Sales Period::
The winter sales period usually takes from January 7th until the end of February. The summer sales period takes from July 1st until the end of August.

How to Pay:
Most stores accept credit cards, being Visa and MasterCard the most usual ones in almost 100% of the establishments.

Tax Free:
Residents from outside the EU have the right to VAT refund for purchases over 90.15 euros.
