Ruta de la Sierra de la Pedrera 1 The route starts at the north-westernmost point of the Sierra de la Pedrera, on the RM-403 road, and then follows the path leading to highest point and the ridge. The descent leads to the old road to Ontur, alongside which are example of ancient rock art, and then on to the historic Santiago quarry. Before returning to the starting point, walkers also visit the Hoya de la Sima fossil site. Moderate difficulty, distance 16.5 kilometres. Ruta de la Sierra de la Pedrera 2 Setting out from Jumilla, the route follows the old Cañada Real drovers¿ road and climbs, heading to the north, to the path on the left which leads to Sierra de la Pedrera. Skirting the northern edge of the mountains, it then descends towards the Minas de la Celia, where there are the remains of an old volcanic plug which was mined in the early 20th century. Moderate difficulty, distance 30 kilometres.
