A permanent exhibition where visitors can discover two of Moratalla's most representative fiestas: the drum festival during Holy Week and the running of the bulls, which take place from 11 to 17 July.
During Holy Week, Moratalla is the only town where the drummer plays this purely handcrafted instrument with his face covered, each drum having a characteristic sound, each drum having a personal and individual rhythm, and he wears tunics of the most varied colours and combinations. The days when the drums are played are Maundy
Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, throughout the day. The Moratalla drum festival has been declared a festival of regional tourist interest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The main fiestas in Moratalla, also declared to be of regional tourist interest, are held from 11 to 17 July in honour of Cristo del Rayo, where a wide range of festivities take place, with the traditional running of the bulls along the route and the release of the fighting bulls as the focal point of the fiesta.
