Lorca is a frontier city, which was declared -a Town of Historical and Artistic
Interest- in 1964, offers a journey through history exploring its medieval, renaissance and baroque
buildings. The latest archaeological excavations have revealed that the Jewish quarter was placed in
the shelter of the huge fortified walls of the castle, known today as ?Fortaleza del Sol?.
Caravaca, a holy town located in the northeast of the Region, is the fifth town in
the world to be allowed to celebrate the Perpetual Jubilee .The main monument of this town is the
Chapel of La Vera Cruz. Caravaca is also in a privileged position in terms of rural tourism.
