Let's celebrate Manifesta 8.
Join us for a full day of activities and take the time to learn about the various exhibitions of the Biennale.
We start off with breakfast at the plaza of the Old Artillery Barracks where you can plan your day and sign up for various activities: There will be juices for children, workshops, guided tours, concerts .... Let team of art mediators of Manifesta 8 show you how they approach contemporary art and learn more about the Biennial and its significance in the context of the city of Murcia.
All activities are free and require no reservation.
The exhibitions are open on the regular scheme.
10:30. Breakfast. Meeting Point
Where: Coffee Stand in the square Salzillo Old Artillery Barracks.
Start the day with good coffee offered by the local Coffee house. Come and meet the art mediators and plan your day with activities that interest you.
11.30-14:00 What are you playing?
Workshop for children from 0 to 99 years.
Do you know how to play "la rayuela"? What do children play in other countries? This workshop will review the games played by our parents and those played elsewhere. Come tell us your ideas and together we will put them into practice. Where: Square of the Old Barracks Artillery
12:00 to 13:30 The Rules of the Game.
Workshop-family game.
Where: Hall 2 Old Artillery Barracks.
The exhibition "Constitution for Temporary Display" by one of Manifesta 8's curatorial collectives tranzit.org implied a new process for setting up an exhibition of contemporary art. In this workshop the participants are going to make up their own rules of a game mode and visit the exhibition game following the clues suggested by the art mediators. Family Workshop.
12.00-14:00 Lokolé.
Concert in the morning, Where: Plaza of Old Artillery Barracks.
Lokolé is a musical project based in Murcia but with strong African roots. Throughout the morning there will be a special atmosphere created while children and adults participating in various activities.
17:00 to 18:30. Wake-up books.
Children's Workshop with artist Kasia. Where: Hall 2. Old Artillery Barracks.
There weeding books, books into disuse in this workshop which we will give them a second chance. Well that's what we do with books, we will give them a second life painting and transforming them into our notebooks of artists, each and every one is going to build their own intimate and very personal diary.
17.00-18:30 By Sea hares running.
Guided tour. Where: Mubam. During a visit to an exhibition of contemporary art we face many issues. The work suggests a few ideas, the mediator of art tells us more ... what we think? In this guided tour will make a special journey through the exhibition: true lies, half truths and imagination will help us to seek our own interpretation of the works.
19:30. As loose as anything.
Performance by Ryan Gander, Where: Old Post Office Building.
Dichotomy between the traditional and contemporary, this performance designed by artist Ryan Gander dance movements, rehearsals and performances reflect the actuality of everyday life.
