02/09/10Manifesta 8 presents its education program in Cartagena
Today Manifesta presented it's extensive education programme in Cartagena. Present at the presentation where the Minister of Culture of the Region Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz, the Mayor Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, general coordinator of Manifesta 8, Esther Regueira, Head of Education of Manifesta, Yoeri Meessen and Belén Cerezo, coordinator of Education Department of Manifesta 8.
The Education program for Manifesta 8 started earlier this year with a series of symposia and seminars including "Manifesta 8: contemporary art, audiences, mediation and participation" in collaboration with the University of Murcia and "Manifesta 8: Exhibition formats in Contemporary Art" in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. Furthermore during the lead up to Manifesta 8 the education department organized the program "we have a visit" which brought visiting artists in connection and dialogue with local students, organizations and collectives.
The program which will be developed during Manifesta 8 includes Guided Tours, Workshops, Teacher Seminars and a multitude of Special Projects.
