Kajsa Dahlberg¿s conceptual work for Manifesta 8 consists of a collection of 400 postcards, sent to Sweden from Jerusalem over the past hundred years. The postcards are categorised and displayed according to the content of the messages they contain. They draw on a wide range of relationships, friendships and ideological projections on to the city of Jerusalem. They include news from the first generation of Jewish immigrants who were seeking a land of new possibilities, and brief texts recounting the political situation of the city today. Dahlberg¿s installation is like a souvenir of hope and a wave of nostalgia.

Kajsa Dahlberg was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1973. She graduated from the Malmö Art Academy in 2003 and went to the Whitney program in 2007/08. She currently lives and works in Malmö and Berlin. Dahlberg work with video, text and sound and her work is exploring how narratives are constructed and mediated in relation to censorship, political representation and identity political representation. Her work has been shown in biennials and exhibitions such as: Time Out Of Joint at The Kitchen, New York; If We Can¿t Get It Together at The Power Plant in Toronto and The Jerusalem Show at Al-Ma'mal Foundation for Contemporary Art, Jerusalem, 2009; Montehermoso Cultural Center in Vitoria, 2008. The 1st Athens Biennial and Prague Biennial #3 in 2007.
