The Plaza de España
was the place chosen to locate the most important buildings of the Renaissance
and Baroque city: the Council building erected between the 17th and 18th
centuries; the old Collegiate of San Patricio built thanks to the efforts of
Lorca among the 16th and 18th centuries; the Plaza del
Caño that houses the buildings of the Bakers' Granary of the 16th century
and the old House of the Corregidor of the 17th century.
