Information

Perhaps the most beautiful promenade on the Mar Menor coast, two kilometres of fully remodelled promenade, flanked by centuries-old palm trees, and mostly pedestrianized.

Throughout the promenade, there are numerous terraces and kiosks, open almost all year round , to enjoy a meal or dinner, an ice cram, or simply a refreshment in a very pleasant atmosphere by the sea. Along the same path, besides enjoying the beach and the sea on one side, we can admire different summer houses, form the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among them are Chalet Barnuevo, Casa del Conde Campillo, Villa San Francisco Javier, Torre Santiago de la Ribera and Villa la Pinada. Alongside these old buildings, a few apartment towers coexist, giving Santiago de la Ribera a very distinctive skyline. The Nautical Club stands out as a visual landmark with a strong presence along the promenade, its side elevations suggesting the shape of a sailing boat. The spas deserve special mention. They are structures that rise above the sea's surface, sequencing the jouney along the beach in a unique way. They emerged as private failities for the higher social classes' bathing. Wooden walkways led to elevated platforms equipped with changing rooms, showers, shade elements, and seating, with stairs descending to the sea. They are administrative concesssions to nearby buildings and individuals and are protected constructions.
