Information

The Performing Arts Centre (CAES for its initials in Spanish) is an emblematic building of contemporary design with a built area of 4.000 m². Its innovative architectural language is work of Francisco Sola, Carlos Brugarolas and Francisco Cavas. It has been designed to host all the cultural and artistic events of the municipality, such as theatre, dance, music, and cinema. It is also a meeting point for all the cultural associations.

It includes an auditorium with 600 seats and 17 multipurpose rooms, 4 of which are equipped for dance (flamenco, classical and contemporary) and a so-called “Florita Room”, a school for string instruments and rondalla.

The first stone was set in 1998 and it was inaugurated on the 16th of September 2006, being the first indoor auditorium in the Campo de Cartagena.

Artists such as Los Secretos, María Luisa Merlo, Blas Cantó, Carmen Maura, El Monaguillo, Neuman, and Concha Velasco have performed there.
