Considered by the Greeks as the "hill that blocks the way", the Sierra del Carche near Jumilla is a countryside area suitable for a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. There are mountain bike routes and platforms for hang-gliding and paragliding, as well as several chasms and caves in the higher areas for caving enthusiasts, including La Yedra, which is 22 metres deep and Los Cachorros at 63 metres deep.
