CASA DE CRISTO SITE

The place of the Casa de Cristo, located at about 7 km from the town of Moratalla on the slopes of the Pico de los Frailes, is very well known and popular, since it is where the "apparition" of Jesus Christ took place in 1493 and since then, it has been a place of pilgrimage for residents and visitors from the different neighbouring towns. Nowadays, we can find the Sanctuary with its hermitage dedicated to the patron saint of Moratalla, the Interpretation Centre of Cave Art and an inn with a restaurant. But in addition to all of the above, this place of great scenic and natural interest is also a place of recreation due to its impressive views, its facilities and its large viewpoint from which you can see a large part of the territory of Moratalla and its neighbouring villages, with outstanding views of the Sierra del Buitre, the Sierra del Cerezo and the historic centre of Moratalla.
