THE NIGHT OF DRUMS

DECLARED OF NATIONAL TOURIST INTEREST

MULA
11 ABR 2017

The mixture of bells ringing and silence provokes the appearance of ancestral rhythms. After words, sound comes, and communication becomes an earthquake of primitive and baroque tomtoms sounding at the same time. Hands move and play with drumsticks over the skin of the drum. Shuddering and confusion of senses in full space age: the tunic, the skin, the flowers...

All the "pasos" (representations of the scenes of Christ's Passion) which participate in the Holy Week of Mula are worth seeing. Simple thrones, but beautiful statues. Saint Joseph and the baby Jesus, the Virgin of the Carmen, La oración del huerto (The Agony in the Garden), the Christ of the Caída (Fall), the Cristo Yacente (Lying Christ) and the Virgin of the Angustias (Sorrow), they were all made by the sculptor Jesús Sánchez Lozano.
